The plant HX
With the introduction of the HX MISSION, Starrag has succeeded in setting new standards in the field of blade machining, both technologically and economically. The aim of the development was to use HSC technology for the first time for the rational production of turbomachinery blading.
The machining of blades without length restriction requires for collision reasons a completely new machine concept. Thus, unlike conventional solutions, the HX MISSION performs the pivoting movements, not just the workpiece. To avoid unnecessary compensatory movements, the pivot point was placed in the tool tip. This was possible thanks to the patented by Starrag B-axis
Products Applications
The HX-151 machines are designed as 5-axis centers specifically for the machining of turbine blades. They allow processing at medium to very high cutting speeds and very high feed values. HX-151/24 can be used for roughing and finishing work. The simple position measuring system is assigned by default.
