The GEN TURN 36 CS is a7-axis 1.375” (36mm) bar diameter sliding headstock CNC lathe without a guidebushing. This facilitates fast set up, allows greater work piece concentricity,and provides superior cutting rigidity over conventional Swiss-style lathes.The GEN TURN 36 CS provides for short cycle-times because the Counter Spindlecan work simultaneously with the Main Spindle. The GEN TURN 36 CS does notre quire the use of ground bar stock or a guide bushing, as required with mostSwiss-style machines. No ground stock requirement and no guide bushing providesmuch shorter bar remnants. These both represent a substantial cost savings by conserving material and reducing change over time for improved profitability.
The GEN TURN 36 CSCNC is very robust and rigid machine. The heavy ribbed box cast machine weighs nearly 8,000 pounds! The machine can make aggressive rough cuts and then finish with a second tool while achieving much greater tool life on all tools. The GENTURN 36 CS allows for multiple tool passes with rough and finish cutting of allpart features. Standard Swiss machine cuts are limited to the length of the guide bushing. Longer cuts must be micro-fed at full depth with one-tool injust one-pass, which burns up expensive tooling, limiting production efficiencyand adding cost. These advantages are particularly evident in tougher materials where the capability of the GENTURN 36 CS really excels.
