The machine is older. It’s seen better days. However, this machine is still incredibly accurate. Bearings are old and louder on the sub spindle. The milling spindle drive shaft is old, and is also loud. The b-axis cover was removed a long time ago. They fold and bind up, and just got in the way, so we decided to keep them off. Those things have never effected our ability to cut good parts. We have cut oil & gas stainless components, and a slew of aerospace parts for the last 5-6 years on this machine. Every day, we’re holding .0004″ – .0005″ on multiple diameters. We do regular maintenance on the machine, and typically do alignments once per year, to make sure all the axis are aligned and cutting straight. It’s been pivotal in the growth of my company.. That said, we are finally in a position to buy new, so we are upgrading. I considered keeping them because, why not? But we don’t have the space, and frankly, we’d like the cash to be able to invest in our quality lab.
The machine is under power. Will be used frequently until it’s sold. I have a bunch of tool holders that can go with the machine too if you want more than just 12 in the turret.
