Description of the general overhaul and modernization in 2022

– the use of a precision ball screw coupled with a servo drive in the axis of the grinding wheel infeed (manufacturer
MITSUBISHI or a similar class),
– elimination of the hydraulic cylinder in the axis of the grinding wheel (quick step)
– the use of an absolute measuring system
– the use of a controller that controls the operation of the servo drive and the measuring system
– the use of an electronic wheel for manual operation with a servo drive
– the machine will be deprived of the manual mechanical feed wheel.
By using a servo drive, the grinder can be operated in the following cycle.
The operator will clamp the workpiece, set the mechanical stops in the hydraulic axis of table travel. After switching
on the grinding wheel, it will move the grinding wheel to the workpiece with the electronic wheel until the grinding
wheel touches the workpiece. The operator will remember the position of the measuring system by pressing the
button. After this stage, he can enter the grinding parameters: the final diameter of the detail, the value of the unit
coarse and finishing infeed, etc. …. The decision to slide off during grinding on the grinding wheel is made by the
operator. With the wheel dressing in position, wheel dressing and finished, the operator must confirm the end of the
dressing process.
After returning to the set grinding range in the table axis, the operator will restart the grinding process. The machine
itself will correct the change in the diameter of the grinding wheel after dressing. Finishing grinding stops the rotation
of the workpiece and moves the grinding wheel to the rear position. The operator takes the measurements and can
make a correction to the control system in order to repeat the finishing grinding and obtaining the desired dimension.
Attention: Changing the grinding wheel or starting work after turning off the machine power requires carrying out
the dressing process and confirming the completion of this process. This allows the machine to confirm its position.
