The MAZAK Slant Turn 450 is a two (2) axis, heavy duty CNC lathe developed for Heavy Cutting, High Precision metal removal in the medium piece part production range. Engineered for optimum rigidity with heavy duty precision ground and hardened boxed ways, the Slant Turn 450 offers constant horsepower and spindle torque over 3 speed ranges.
The Slant Turn 450 is responsive to the production needs of todays rapidly changing manufacturing environment and is constructed with a 45 degree slant bed. It was offered as a chucking lathe, without a tailstock, as well as with 40″, 60″, or 80″ centers. It was also offered with spindle bore sizes of 4.09″, 7.1″, and 10.2″ in order to cater toward a variety of different types of turning work.
The Slant Turn 450 is a model that effectively replaced the Slant turn 40N that had been produced years prior. The Slant 450 offers larger maximum swing and cut diameter than its predecessor.
The Mazak Slant Turn 450 is comparable in size to both the Mori Seiki SL65 series of lathes as well as somewhat of a cross over between both the Doosan Puma 400 and Puma 500 series of lathes.
