Strength, Flexibility, and Modularity for Small Parts

The Tsugami SS20 Opposed Gang Tool CNC Lathe is a rugged performer capable of performing deep cuts while maintaining simultaneous machining on the main and sub spindle. Tsugami’s unique Modular Tool Zone is a key component of the SS Series of Swiss Type Lathes and allows easy replacement of rotary tools, indexed tool holders, and turning tool holders. The result? Faster set-up and changeover times, and greater flexibility in scheduling long and short part runs. The SS20’s ability to use the main and sub spindle independently and simultaneously dramatically cuts cycle time as well.

Overall, tool modularity, rugged construction, and simultaneous machining capability transform this exceptional Swiss turn into a multi-faceted machine tool for long and short run small parts.

The Tsugami SS20 CNC Lathe is CONVERTIBLE and may be run as a traditional sliding headstock Swiss Turn using the guide bushing or run without the guide bushing with the addition of an optional chucker kit. When run as a chucker the CNC Lathe can use drawn bar stock instead of centerless ground stock, dramatically reducing remnant size and increasing shop flexibility.

Unique Tsugami Modular Tool Zone: change part runs quickly, handle long and short run jobs easily. Live tools moved at will!
Live Face / Cross Tools, Main and Sub Spindle – enable simultaneous machining on both spindles
220 mm Stroke easily handles long pieces
Handles Complex Parts– in traditional Swiss or “chucker” mode
Large Tool Zone facilitates easy access to work area to change tooling
