What is Drilling Operation?
Drilling is a machining process in which a drilling tool, typically a drill bit, rotates and advances into the workpiece, cutting and removing material to create a cylindrical hole. The drill bit is typically held in a chuck on a drill press or a drill head that is mounted on a machine such as a milling machine or a lathe. Drilling can be performed on various types of materials including metals, plastics, and woods, and it can create holes of various sizes and depths, depending on the size and type of drill bit used and the properties of the material being drilled. Drilling operation is performed on drilling machine where single cutting edge drill bit used to make hole on the work piece. It is mainly used for creating holes with accurate size, shape and depth.
